ARMENIAN CHURCH COMMUNITY OPENS IN NICE
Tert.am
30.03.12
The primate of the Armenian diocese of France, Archbishop Norvan
Zakarian, and President of the Diocesan Council Patrice Djololian
have informed about the opening of a new Armenian church community
in the city of Nice, Nouvelles d'Armenie reported.
The new organization, called Cultural Association of the Armenian
Apostolic Church (AAC) of Alp-Martimes, Var and Monaco, was
established to replace the church community of Cote d'Azure which
did not reportedly maintain contacts with the AAC for a long time.
As all the attempts of conciliation and reconciliation proved vain,
Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II and Armenia's Supreme Religious
Council made a unanimous decision on January 26, 2012 to deprive the
old parish of the right to be called Armenian Apostolic Church.
The new community, expected to join the diocese in the near future,
already serves rituals at the Armenian church of Nice.
