Armenian Foreign Minister due in Tehran on Saturday
Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian is set to arrive in the
Iranian capital Tehran to hold talks with the senior officials of the
Islamic Republic.
Upon his arrival on Saturday, Nalbandian will be received by his
Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi, Mehr News Agency reported.
Salehi and Nalbandian will hold a mutual news conference at the end of
the meeting.
The Armenian official is also scheduled to take part in bilateral
meetings to discuss economic and political matters as well as regional
issues with Iranian officials.
Iran and Armenia have taken major strides towards the expansion of
cooperation in energy, electricity and gas fields in recent years.
The value of trade between Iran and Armenia reached USD 270 million in
2010, and currently stands at over USD 300 million.
Tehran and Yerevan have been also negotiating construction of a joint
oil terminal along the two countries' common border in order to
increase exchange of various oil products TNP/HGH
