RESPONSE TO FOLLOW IF ELECTIONS FALSIFIED - HRANT BAGRATYAN

Member of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc, ex
prime minister of Armenia Hrant Bagratyan said speaking to Tert.am
that the ANC will not allow the authorities to falsify the upcoming
parliamentary elections using their own sources.
Commenting on his statement in one of the interviews that 'we will
fight after May 6 as much as our forces will allow, and Serzh Sargsyan
will not have a normal country and go to presidential elections
calmly,' Bagratyan explained, 'it means that if Serzh Sargsyan
falsifies the elections he will get a response from us.'
Referring to the yesterday's statement of Alvard Petrosyan , member
of the ARF-D, that she is terrified of Bagratyan's words and said,
'you were sitting eight years, why you have not done anything you
are saying now. During those years I saw nothing but robbed Armenia,'
Bagratyan said 'according to the statistics of the current authorities,
when I was a prime minister the GDP grew 16% and it was the first
economic growth among the CIS countries in 1994. When Armenia was
registering growth, Russia and Georgia were undergoing economic
decline till 1997,' Bagratyan said, stressing that all the victories
were registered during his tenure in office.
He also stressed that when the enemy occupied everything, he came to
the government and Armenia started winning. 'I have exploited the
nuclear power plant, unlike the previous governments I have given
light to the people and put the end to that problem. According to the
data of today's authorities, during those years the migration rate
decreased,' Bagratyan said, adding that all the facts he presents
are based on the statistics presented by the current authorities,
while his statistics is better.
