PanARMENIAN.Net - Deputy chairman of the opposition Heritage party
Ruben Hakobyan does not rule out possible protests in the streets in
case election outcomes are forged.
"People are running short of patience; if we see apparent cases of
violation on election day, I'm sure not only Heritage but the civil
society representatives will go into streets to protect their rights,"
he told a press conference on May 3.
Hakobyan emphasized it's early to speak about it now, before elections
are held.
Parliamentary elections are due in Armenia on May 6 featuring 8
political parties (Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Prosperous
Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD), Orinats Yerkir, Heritage,
Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA), Communist Party of Armenia and
United Armenians party, as well as one election bloc represented by
opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC).
