Unfortunately, the votes of the electorate in Armenia still fail to
play a decisive role, and the goal of the Armenian National Congress
(ANC) is to make each voter's vote have a weight, ANC member Lyudmila
Sargsyan said at a press conference in Yerevan on Wednesday.
She thinks that the forthcoming elections differ from the previous
ones by the excessive activeness of the parties during the election
campaign, as each of them perfectly realizes that there will be a
serious fight. "The daily election campaign and communication with
the voters give us the right to arrive at the conclusion that the
voters have become better informed, better interested and that they
have started taking a more active part in the political life of the
country", Sargsyan said.
In the meantime, the countrywide attempts to rig the results of the
forthcoming elections will continue, the registers still contain names
of the dead people and those who left the country, and the goal of the
ANC is to prevent these attempts, she said. Sargsyan added that the
parliamentary elections will mark the beginning of the presidential
elections, and Armenia's president will be like Armenian parliament.
To note, the parliamentary elections in Armenia will be held on May
6 2012, and the presidential elections will be held in Feb 2013.
