The joint inter-party headquarters monitoring the parliamentary
election will resort to all legal methods to combat possible frauds, l
the leader of the opposition Armenian National Congress has said.
`We will probably do what we did after each election, i.e. - appeal
against all election frauds. I don't know to what extent we will
succeed because the opposition forces worked separately in the past ...
I am sure we are now thrice more powerful thanks to our partners,'
Levon Ter-Petrosyan told the headquarters' meeting on Sunday.
Asked whether a post-electoral turmoil is possible, the first
president said the question would better be addressed to the
authorities, adding that they always held peaceful rallies in
compliance with the requirements of the law.
Ex-Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan, who represents the coalition
Prosperous Armenia party (PAP) at the headquarters, said their main
activities focus on fixing election riggings. According to him, the
PAP was the first to raise alarm over the vanishing stamps.
Oskanyan said the party had received reports from other sources as
well and promised that the headquarters will keep issuing statements
in case of observing irregularities.
