YEREVAN.- The present elections once again prove that every election
is worse than the previous one in Armenia, Armenian First President
and leader of opposition Armenian National Congress Levon
Ter-Petrosyan said on Sunday.
`This is not our issue anymore, it is not the issue of Dashnaktsutyun
or Prosperous Armenia, now it is the republic's issue. Why must
Armenia be the most neglected country in the world in political,
economic, social and education fields? The reason is that the
authorities are not being elected by the nation. I feel pain that
today the authorities can do everything to maintain power. This is not
being done at the expense of us, ARFD or Prosperous Armenia, it is
being done on at the expense of the nation,' Levon Ter-Petrosyan
announced.
Armenian National Congress (ANC) is an opposition bloc founded in 2008
after presidential elections. During the August 1, 2008, rally in
Yerevan the first President of Armenia and ANC leader Levon
Ter-Petrosyan announced formation of the bloc. ANC comprises 18
parties and political forces.
ANC proportional list includes 119 names. It has also nominated MP
candidates with the majority election system.
