The Prosperous Armenia party will for now refrain from any radical
statements on withdrawing the ruling coalition, according to Edgar
Vardanyan, a political analyst.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, the expert said that the party will
try to keep the intrigue for the time being.
"I don't think the PAP will make abrupt statements here and there
now; it will try, at least in the short run, to keep the intrigue,
without expressing its final attitude," he said.
Vardanyan noted that under the coalition agreement signed last
year, the party is committed to endorse Serzh Sargsyan in the 2013
presidential election.
"Prosperous Armenia has not yet withdrawn from the coalition agreement
which explicitly states that the PAP and the other coalition forces
will back Serzh Sargsyan's in 2013," he added.
Alexander Manasyan, another expert attending the news conference, said
the political forces have not yet clearly expressed their intention
about taking part in the presidential election.
"The Republican Party has something to say in that connection; as for
Prosperous Armenia's stance, it is not clear for now," he said. "We
have several leaders who have been on the political arena for quite
a long time but not all of them have voiced their intention to join
the presidential race."
