AMB. CHITECHYAN PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO POPE BENEDICT XVI

Armenian Ambassador to the Holy See Vigen Chitechyan presented his
credentials to His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.
Within the framework of the visit to Vatican Ambassador Chitechyan
had meetings with the Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, prefect of the
Congregation for Eastern Churches, Secretary for Relations with States
is Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, Interior Minister Angelo Becciu,
as well as Foreign Minister, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone.
During the meetings the parties stressed that the historic bilateral
ties, the rich cultural and spiritual heritage, as well as the
high-level dialogue between the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the
Holy See create good preconditions and a firm basis for the further
development of cooperation.
