The official opening of and drawing of the lot for the World Chess
Championship Match will be held Thursday in Moscow, and drawing of the
lot will be conducted by the event's chief referee, Ashot Vardapetyan,
who is from Armenia's capital, Yerevan.
The current world champion, Viswanathan Anand of India and the
challenger, Boris Gelfand of Israel, will play twelve classical games,
and a tiebreak will be played in case of a resultant draw.
The event's prize money is US$ 2.55 million, and the winner will
receive its sixty percent.
The Indian Grandmaster is considered the favorite.
First game of the World Chess Championship Match will be played
on Friday.
