YEREVAN, MAY 10, ARMENPRESS: Komitas second International Classical
Music Competition and Festival will kick off in September 7-9. State
Youth Orchestra of Armenia (SYOA) informed Armenpress that the main
goal of the festival is to introduce Armenian classical music out of
the borders of Armenia.
The compositions of Komitas, Armenian contemporary composers' music,
the works of Germany and Western European composers are scheduled
to sound within the context of the festival .Competition prize fund
makes 20, 000 euros.
According to organizers the aim of Komitas International Classical
Music Competition and Festival is to introduce the German society
the Armenian great composer's life and works, as well as boost the
accomplishment of the history of Armenian classical music in Germany
and increase its recognition.
The Festival has intensions to establish Armenian and Germany relations
pertaining to art sphere.
In the form of Komitas International Classical Music Competition
and Festival a range of seminars, lectures and exhibitions, master
classes are scheduled to kick off.
State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (SYOA) headed by artistic director
and principal conductor Sergey Smbatyan and State Academic Choir
of Armenia led by Hovhannes Chekidzyan will come forth in Komitas
International Classical Music Competition and Festival.
