HIS HOLINESS ARAM I WITH THE ARMENIAN COMMUNITY OF SHAHINSHAHER, ISFAHAN
On 11 May, the next day of his pontifical visit to the Diocese of Isfahan,
His Holiness Aram paid a brief visit to the Armenian Community of
Shahinshaher, which is one of the major suburbs of Isfahan.
Aram I attended a cultural event and a reception organized in his honor. In
his pastoral message, he stressed the crucial importance of family. He said
that "the Armenian family is a sacred institution for our church and people.
This unique character and vocation of the family need to be preserved and
enhanced in a world in which family values are constantly and seriously
threatened."
Considered the family "as a small church and school", H.H. Aram I stated
that for the Armenian Church "restoring the integrity of family life and
revitalizing of its moral, spiritual and national vocation must become a
major priority".
