NKR hosts conference on 18th anniversary of ceasefire

PanARMENIAN.Net - On May 12, "Helsinki Initiative- 92" Nagorno
Karabakh Committee's Masters of Peace Club in NKR hosted a conference
titled `18 years of Ceasefire: Resources for Peace and
Reconciliation.'
The event, organized with the support of Egyptian Masters of Peace
Club, was dedicated to 18th anniversary of ceasefire agreement on
Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
The conference welcomed Artsakh's authorities, MPs, representatives of
NGOs and intellectual elite as well as former war commanders.
During the conference, the event participants repeatedly stressed the
importance of ceasefire preservation, urging conflicting parties to
announce May 12 as the day without aggression and violence at contact
line.
The guests also noted the importance of ceasefire in promoting
development of economy and allowing to heal the wounds of war, while
also providing a chance to settle the conflict through peaceful
negotiations.
