YEREVAN, MAY 14, ARMENPRESS: His Holiness Karekin II Supreme Patriarch
and Catholicos of All Armenians hosted the delegation of Sheikha of
Kuwait Fariha Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah accompanied by the ambassadors
of the two countries.
Information center of Holy See informed Armenpress that at the
beginning of the meeting Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary to Kuwait Fadey Charchoghlyan dwelled on the aim
of Sheikha's visit, noting that she carries out charitable work in
different countries aimed at assisting help to needy families.
Welcoming Sheikha's visit to the spiritual center of all Armenians
His Holiness came forth with the speech, where high estimating the
role of Armenian Church in the preservation of the identity of the
nation Karekin II stated that no matter where the Armenian lives,
he is connected with St. Etchmiadzin. Speaking on the century aged
relations of Armenian and Arab nations His Holiness estimated them
as warm and cordial. Reportedly the result of the good relations is
visible in Kuwait.
His Holiness expressed his gratitude over the established diplomatic
relations between the countries, which gradually become more
collaborative and closer. Catholicos of the Armenians dwelled on
the Armenian community in Kuwait; Karekin II noted that living a
peaceful and decent life Armenians had contributed for the advancement
of Kuwait. His Holiness thanked Sheikha of Kuwait Fariha Al-Ahmad
Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and asked to convey his gratitude to Emir of Kuwait
and the authorities for the cordial attitude toward the Armenian
community. His Holiness also thanked his high ranking quest for
the humanitarian activities, concluding that the charity is highly
appreciated by all the people regardless religious affiliation.
At the course of the meeting Fariha Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah
stated she is much touched by the visit to Armenia, especially to
Holy Etchmiadzin. In her speech the interlocutor spoke about the
high-level religious tolerance in Kuwait, as well as the important
role of Armenians in the development of various spheres of the country.
