A few days ago Armenia's representative Narek Kazazyan took the third
place in the Eurovision Young Musicians 2012 competition held in
Vienna. Another Armenian, violinist Emmanuel Chgnavoryan representing
Austria came second.
Fifteen-year-old Narek from Vanadzor managed to admire the European
audience with his kanon and Khachatur Avetisyan's work. Head of
the Armenian delegation to "Euroviison" Gohar Gasparyan says the
Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra faced difficulties accompanying the
Armenian kanon.
Narek Kazazyan received a prize of ~@1,200, which will allow him to
take a master class in Vienna. Today he expressed gratitude to his
teacher Tsovinar Hovhannisyan and accompanist Anahit Dilbaryan. "I
would not be able to perform well without their help," Narek said.
We have talented young musicians and we have to provide them with
an opportunity to express themselves, Deputy Minister of Culture
Arthur Poghosyan said. For that purpose the Armenian Government has
proclaimed the aesthetic education of children and youth as a priority
in 2012-2015.
