YEREVAN. - Food safety inspections will start in Armenia's regions
on May 21, Director Abraham Bakhchagulyan of the State Service on
Food Safety informed during a press conference on Friday.
In his words, the food safety issue is more troubling in the regions
than in the capital, Yerevan.
As per Bakhchagulyan, some food items-specifically the ice cream
market-will be inspected on a regular basis and in parallel with the
start of the summer heat.
In addition, the Service has designed a risk-based inspection system,
according to which dairy and meat products and baby food will be
considered the food groups with the greatest health hazard.
