Tigran Sargsyan: Government is constantly engaged in polemics with the CB
Thursday 17 May 2012
Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan called the
criticism against the government and Central Bank recently stated in
the press `ungrounded' today.
`We are criticized for the right hand not knowing what the left one is
doing but this criticism is ungrounded', said the Prime Minister at
the governmental session.
`It's clear that the main goal of the Central Bank is to supress
inflations and the government's goal is focused on economic growth.
Having different goals, we are engaged in constant polemics with the
Central Bank', said the Armenian PM.
According to him, this polemics should bear a permanent character as
`it's owing to it that decisions are born and macroeconomic stability
is ensured'.
`There is a clear guide to coordination of monetary-credit and
tax-budgetary policy to this end. Some people just don't conceive what
the coordination of these policies is', said the PM.
