EXHIBITION OF ARMENIAN RICH CULTURE HAS BEEN ORGANIZED IN SAINT PETERSBURG

SAINT PETERSBURG, MAY 21, ARMENPRESS: On occasion of international
Museum Day hundreds of inhabitants of Saint Petersburg visited Russian
ethnographic Museum where an exhibition entitled "Nations of South
Caucasus in the end of 19-th century and beginning of 20-th century"
had been opened. Each country was allocated a separate room.
Armenpress reports that the section presenting Armenian ethnography
was very comprehensive, where the exhibits gave some idea about
socio-cultural life of Armenian farmers and urban people. The
exhibition was full of supplies which told about mode of life, daily
round of Armenians. It was possible to see there Armenian dresses,
different musical instruments, technical measures for agriculture.
Around 3000 exhibits of Armenian origin are kept in the repositories
of the museum.
Many exhibits museum obtained itself and some part was obtained with
the help of individual citizens.
