The 14-year-old Istanbul-Armenian high school student Klara Yeteroglu
who, with her composition entitled "Being Armenian in Turkey,"
was declared winner of a composition contest, is at the focus of
Turkish media.
After being declared the winner, Klara, who has an Armenian father
and a Turkish mother, was interviewed by Haberturk of Turkey. During
the interview, she made statements which woo the Turks, and these
statements are widely covered by Turkish newspapers and media.
"I live very happily as an Armenian in Turkey. The state helps us in
all matters. As Armenians in Turkey, we do not encounter any problems
in Turkey, [despite what] people claim. There is no Armenian issue
in Turkey," Klara said, Haberturk informs.
