COMMON INTERESTS OF FRANCE AND KARABAKH

Armenia worries about possible change of attitude of France to the
Turkish-Armenians relations and the Karabakh conflict triggered by
the replacement of Nicolas Sarkozy by socialist Francois Hollande.

Hollande's initial meetings with Turkish leaders mean that France's
position will hardly change. Hollande is for better relations with
Turkey but he did not state to support admission of Turkey to the
EU and change his attitude to the recognition of the genocide of
    Armenians.

The change of president will hardly affect the position of France
which is based on clear priorities. One of the key priorities, though
often not declared such, is the wish of France, as a Christian state,
to stop expansion of other cultures, first of all the Turkish culture,
and help countries which proved able to fight expansion.

This will explain the interest of France in Armenia and Karabakh which
were able to resolve this problem, which is more than France can do.

Europe suffers from the flow of an alien aggressive culture and Europe
does not have the courage to choose other mechanisms. Therefore,
it envies those who stopped expansion and tries to help them in any
    way they can.

French Senate members Sophie Joissains, Philip Marini and Bernard
Fournier are visiting Nagorno-Karabakh. However great the role of
the Armenian Diaspora by means of which the French Senators visit
Karabakh from time to time, it should be noted that they find common
    interests here.
