KARABAKH'S STEPANAKERT AND FRANCE'S AIX-EN-PROVENCE TO BECOME TWIN CITIES

YEREVAN. - Armenia's Parliament Speaker Samvel Nikoyan received on
Friday members of the French Senate Philippe Marini, Sophie Joissains
and Bernard Fournier.
Nikoyan stressed the importance of their visit to Nagorno-Karabakh,
claiming Artsakh and its people have gained their right of living
in freedom and they should not be neglected from the international
community, parliamentary press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
"Democracy is the key competitive privilege of Karabakh," Nikoyan said
thanking all those French Senators who voted for the bill criminalizing
denial of the Armenian Genocide.
Senator Marini claimed he is impressed by the visits to Karabakh
and Armenia.
At the same time, Senator Joissains stated she was impressed to
see in Karabakh strong youth, who stand for their history, culture
and universal values. Besides, the Senator claimed that works are
run to declare Karabakh's capital city Stepanakert and France's
Aix-en-Provence twin cities.
The parties also touched upon political, economic, and cultural
bilateral relations.
