Armenian president's party to form coalition govt with Orinats Yerkir
YEREVAN. May 24
The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) led by President Serzh Sargsian
will form a coalition government with the Orinats Yerkir Party led by
National Security Council Secretary Artur Bagdasarian.
The decision was made at a meeting of the RPA governing body, party
spokesman Eduard Sharmazanov told reporters on Thursday.
The Republican Party will retain the offices of the prime minister and
parliamentary speaker, he also said.
Earlier on Thursday, the Prospering Armenia party led by well-known
businessman Gagik Tsarukian, which won the second biggest number of
seats in parliament, refused to form the coalition with the Republican
Party.
