Aix-en-Provence and Stepanakert Can Become Partner Towns

NKR National Assembly French Senator Sophie Juasen, who is also the
Aix-en-Provence mayor's assistant mentioned the possibility of
cooperation with Nagorno Karabakh, particularly Stepanakert and
explained that the idea existed before their visit to Karabakh and
after the visit the idea of establishing twin towns' relationship
between Stepanakert and Aix-en-Provence became firmer.
To the question whether this time as well the French diplomacy will
interfere in the creation of such relations the French senators noted
that in case of need diplomatics allows devising new conceptions such
as calling the twin town relations close or cultural relations. In any
case the city authorities in France are autonomous, therefore free to
establish a relationship with any city they choose. And in this
respect no problem connected with the establishment of such kind of
relations is likely to arise, Philip Marini added.
