TURKEY REFUSED RUSSIAN SUGGESTION TO HAVE A DIALOGUE WITH SYRIA

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 30, ARMENPRESS: Ahmed Davutoglu Turkish Foreign
Minister refused the suggestion of his Russian colleague Sergey Lavrov
on having dialogue with Syrian President Bashar Al-Asad. "There
is no point in engaging in dialogue with a regime that continues
to carry out such a massacre against its own people, even during
(the Muslim festival of) Eid al-Adha" Davutoglu declared. As reports
Armenpress referring to Turkish press, Davutoglu also called for a
transition process in Syria in which "people who were not involved
in the bloodshed against Syrian people will play a role."

"What matters now is to encourage peace through the strongest
messages. We had maintained our relationship with the Syrian regime
for months and delivered messages of dialogue," said Davutoglu.

Davutoglu accused UN Security Council for not sending "direct"
messages to Syrian government. The internal political crisis has
turned into a war in Syria; according to UN data more than 16 000
people have already died in a result.
