THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA HOSTED THE MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF LORDS OF THE UK ARA DARZI
YEREVAN, OCTOBER 30, ARMENPRESS. The Prime Minister of the Republic
of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan hosted Armenian professor, the member of
the House of Lords of the United Kingdom, the member of the Council of
Trustees of the National Competitiveness Council of Armenia Ara Darzi,
who participated in the opening ceremony of the Armenian Centre of
Excellence in Oncology.
The Department of Information and Public Relations of the Government
of the Republic of Armenia informed "Armenpress" that the head
of the Government greeted the guest and stated: "We are very glad
for your cooperation with the National Competitiveness Council of
Armenia. It was designed on the foundation of the concept of the
cooperation of the public and private sectors. It is aimed not to
solely develop the competitiveness of the Republic of Armenia, but
also to multiply all the potential power of the Armenian nation. Our
first long-term goal are the reforms of the education system, the
second is mid-term goal is the development of the healthcare and the
third short-term goal is tourism." Tigran Sargsyan also mentioned that
the activity of the foundation will be also aimed to the involvement
of transnational organization and the encouragement of small and
medium-sized businesses.
Darzi expressed his gratification for the reception and highlighted
that it is a great honor for him to be a member of Council of Trustees
of the National Competitiveness Council of Armenia. He stated that
he shares the views of the Government of the Republic of Armenia
regarding the activity of the foundation and said that he is willing
to support their realization.
