Well-known Turkish journalist Enver Aysever, who is an active member
of Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), stated
that one of Turkey's key issues is the year 2015 considering the
100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
Addressing a conference in Hamburg, Germany, Aysever drew the
audience's attention to the need to discuss the Armenian Genocide
issue in Turkey, Haberler news agency of Turkey reports.
"One of Turkey's key issues is the approaching 2015. On the occasion
of the 100th anniversary of the deportation of the Armenians, the UN
will adopt a decision in 2015 that Turkey committed genocide in 1915.
Once such decision is adopted, land and financial compensation will
be sought from Turkey. One of our mistakes is that we have never
discussed 1915," Enver Aysever stated at the conference.
