The Turkish General Staff, in a strongly worded statement, has once
again rejected claims that U.S. military officials have visited the
Diyarbakir Air Base.
Recent Turkish press reports suggest that a group of twenty U.S. army
officials had flown from Ankara in a Turkish military plane on an
inspection tour of the Diyarbakir Air Base.
The objective of the alleged visit was to discuss possible U.S. -
Turkish military cooperation regarding the worsening Syrian conflict.
Turkish news reports claimed that when the U.S. team arrived, a Turkish
military plane flew a reconnaissance mission over the Syrian border.
