LEVON ARONIAN RETAINS THE 2ND PLACE IN FIDE RANKING

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS. FIDE published the new ranking list
of the strongest chess players of the world on November 1, 2012. As
the Chess Federation of the Republic of Armenia informed "Armenpress"
Levon Aronian retains the 2nd place in FIDE ranking with 2815 points
and only Magnus Carlsen from Norway exceeds Aronian's result and
tops the list with 2 848 points. Vladimir Hakobyan with 2703 points,
Sergey Movsisyan with 2688 points, Gabriel Sargsyan with 2679 points
and Tigran L. Sargsyan, who scored 2659 points are involved in the
list of top 100 chess players of the world.
Due to the efforts of these Armenian chess players - Levon Aronian,
Vladimir Hakobyan, Sergey Movsisyan, Gabriel Sargsyan and Tigran L.
Petrosyan Armenian National Chess Team became Olympic champion the
Chess Olympiads three times.
