ARMENIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS REFUSES ARMENIAN PRIME MINISTER'S SUGGESTION TO COOPERATE IN ANTI-CORRUPTION FIGHT

The Armenian National Congress (ANC) refuses Armenian Prime Minister
Tigran Sargsyan's suggestion to participate in the Nov 2 sitting of
the Anti-Corruption Council in the Government. At today's session,
the premier called on all NGOs and opposition parties to join the anti-
corruption fight.
The ANC's statement reads that the incumbent authorities are themselves
the result of corruption; therefore, the fight against this evil will
be like a theatrical performance in the run-up to the presidential
elections. The ANC thinks that not a single opposition party will
join the premier's suggestion.
