US AMBASSADOR TO ARMENIA VISITS GYUMRI MUNICIPALITY

GYUMRI. - Armenia's City of Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan on Thursday
received US Ambassador John Heffern.
Balasanyan extended his thanks to the ambassador for his attention
given to the challenges facing Gyumri, informed that he wishes to
establish a closer interaction between the GyumriMunicipality and US
Embassy, and stated his readiness to prepare joint programs toward
the city's development, the Municipality pres service informs.
In his turn, Ambassador Heffern congratulated Samvel Balasanyan for
being elected Gyumri Mayor and expressed a readiness to take steps
toward deepening ties.
The interlocutors discussed several matters of mutual interest and,
at the end of their talk, they held a joint news conference.
