St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral and the Diocesan Center have been spared
damage from Hurricane Sandy. However, the complex lost power and
heat=80'as did much of Manhattan south of 39th Street-and we are
waiting for these services to be restored over the weekend. We expect
the Diocesan Center to reopen on Monday, November 5. Click here

to view post-storm photos of the Diocese's Murray Hill neighborhood.
We have been in contact with our parishes in the affected areas. In
the coming days, we will alert our readers of any assistance that
might be usefully rendered to our communities in the tri-state area.
The Diocese will resume newsletter publication next Thursday, November
8. Please note that the classical concert scheduled at St. Vartan
Cathedral for Saturday, November 3, has been postponed (the new date
will be announced once the Diocese resumes regular operation next
week).
We are grateful for the prayers and warm messages we have received via
social media networks in the past few days. We ask our readers to
continue to offer prayers for those affected by the hurricane, and for
the rescue and clean-up crews helping in the recovery effort.
May our Lord grant eternal rest to the souls of those who have lost
their lives, and may He bring a measure of comfort to their loved ones
in this time of grief. We pray, too, that our Lord will touch the
wounded with His healing hand, and keep them safe under the shadow of
His holy cross.
