Azerbaijani judoka Ilgar Mushkiyev said their team was protected well
in Yerevan during the 2009 European Championships.
"Although it was three years ago I remember every minute of that
tournament. The way how they met us in Baku sank deep into my heart.
Azerbaijan won five medals in Yerevan and we were especially happy
about Elmar Gasimov's gold medal," he said.
Mushkiyev said they did not manage to walk in Yerevan, only near
the hotel.
"We were protected well. Organization of the tournament was also good.
We stayed in a separate hotel and were cordoned by police during the
tournament. We were given a guard even when we went to a restroom,"
azerisport quotes Mushkiyev.
