YEREVAN. - Reflecting on the Armenian authorities' latest
anti-corruption initiatives, opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party MP
Vahan Hovhannisyan told the Hayots Ashkharh daily as follows:
"This move by the Government could be conditioned on the
pre-[presidential] election logic. All authorities take populist steps
ahead of elections. But if the government is taking a positive step,
what's most important is for it to take it.
It doesn't matter whether that positive step is taken before or after
the elections. If the government feels the need, we stand ready to
present our programs for discussion," Hayots Ashkharh writes.
