Turkmen President Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedow will discuss cooperation
between the two countries during his visit to Armenia, the report of
local mass media stated on Thursday.

Diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan were established
    on October 9, 1992.

The Armenian embassy has been operating in Turkmenistan since
July 1994. As of 2011, some 42 agreements, five protocols, three
memorandums and two declarations have been signed between Armenia
    and Turkmenistan..

Armenia purchases raw materials, plastics, rubber and knitted goods
from Turkmenistan and supplies equipment, vehicles, precious and
semi-precious stones and finished food products to the Turkmen market.

In September, Yerevan hosted the fourth meeting of the Turkmen-Armenian
    commission on economic cooperation.

Armenia is interested in the purchase of electricity produced in
Turkmenistan. This issue was discussed during the official visit of
the Armenian president to Ashgabat in November 2010.
