TEGHOUT CJSC DISSEMINATES A STATEMENT ON PHOTOS PUBLISHED ON BEHALF OF CIVIL INITIATIVE FOR PROTECTION OF TEGHOUT

Teghout CJSC has disseminated a statement concerning the photos
published on behalf of the Civil Initiative for Protection of Teghout.

The information and public relations department of Vallex Group reports
that the photos demonstrate that the subsoil water is flowing into
the Shnogh River from one of the crushing plants. In this connection,
Teghout CJSC states that it is carrying out a water intake on the River
Shnogh in an envisaged volume in line with an authorized structure's
permit. No dangerous chemical elements are used in this process or
    mixed with the water.

For mechanical cleaning of the subsoil water, settling hoppers have
been built in this plant, where the water is to be cleaned from sand
and soil. The photos were made when the settling hoppers did not
operate for technical reasons, and the sand and soil were penetrating
into the river. The leadership of Teghout CJSC was informed of that and
took prompt steps even before the publication of the photos. At the
same time, Teghout CJSC expresses its willingness for a constructive
dialogue and cooperation on environmental issues with any organization
and individuals. To note, Vallex Group was founded in 1998. It unites
20 subsidiaries. The ore reserves in the Teghout deposit make up
450 mln tons, copper reserves - 1.6 mln tons. Russian citizen Valery
Mejlumyan owns 100% of shares of Armenian Copper Programme CJSC.
