YEREVAN. - According to well-informed sources, Armenia's National
Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan was not the sole person who
recently spoke with second President Robert Kocharyan, Hraparak
daily reports.
"While welcoming Hovik Abrahamyan at the airport [and from his official
visit to the Czech Republic], NA Deputy Speaker [and ruling Republican
Party (RPA) Spokesperson] Eduard Sharmazanov and RPA [NA] Faction
leader Galust Sahakyan warmly approached a vehicle, which was coming
toward them from the runway, thinking that it is the distinguished
Abrahamyan [inside].
But the vehicle stopped, the doors opened, and a fairly young-looking
Robert Kocharyan came out. He shook their hands in salutation,
asked how they were. "We were going to salute [him likewise], what
else would we have done? We weren't going to say 'we are waiting for
Hovik,' they justified themselves at the faction," Hraparak writes.
