"ARMENPRESS" IS SUMMING UP THE INTERNATIONAL MEDIA EXHIBITION IN TEHRAN
YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS. On November 3 the Armenian delegation
came back from the 19th International Exhibition of Media and News
Agencies held in Tehran. This year "Armenpress" news agency represented
Armenia in the Exhibition of Media and News Agencies, which kicked
off on October 28 in the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Armenia participated in the International Exhibition of Media and
News Agencies by the support of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic
of Iran to Armenia. Before leaving to Tehran the Armenian delegates
had meetings with the representatives of the Iranian Embassy and
particularly with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador
of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Mohammad Reisi and the
Consultant of the Embassy Mr. Hamid Moradkhani. The Embassy of
the Republic of Armenia to IRI in the face of Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to IRI Grigor
Arakelyan and the Cultural Consultant of the Embassy Sahak Yeghiazaryan
stood beside our delegation from the very beginning of the exhibition.
One of the characteristics of this year's exhibition was the increase
in the number of the pavilions which reached 830 comparing 570
pavilions last year.
The exhibitioin started in Tehran's Imam Khomeini Prayers Ground
(Mosalla) on October 28 with the participation of domestic and foreign
press and news agencies. Iranian publishers from 31 rovinces attended
the even displaying a total of 2,380 publications. International
section included 50 pavilions attended by 80 newsmen from 30
countries.A temporary museum displaying the history of Iranian
journalism was also held on the sidelines of the event which is being
held in a 51,000-square meter area. In the exhibition, two thousand
and 380 media presented their output in 830 pavilions.
The National Competitiveness Foundation largely supported the Armenian
side in the design of the pavilion. The book and maps of the foundation
attracted attention of all the visitors.
During the whole time a number of the representatives of the Armenian
Community of Tehran supported the Armenian delegates. They regularly
visited the pavilion and assisted the delegation.
During the whole course of the exhibition the Armenian pavilion was in
the centre of attention of the visitors. This was said many times by
the organizers of the exhibition, the representatives of foreign mass
media, the visitors and the Iranian mass media as well. During the
closing ceremony the organizers declared that the Armenian pavilion
was the best and the majority of the visitors were interested in it
and it was organized best.
