    ARMENTEL INVESTS 1.1 BILLION DRAMS IN 2 YEARS INTO CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: CEO SAYS

    YEREVAN, November 7. / ARKA /. The Russian-owned ArmenTel
    telecommunications company (trading as Beeline) has invested more than
    1.1 billion drams over the last three years in implementation of 130
    projects in Armenia as part of its corporate social responsibility,
    ArmenTel chief executive officer, Igor Klimko, told a news conference
    called to mark six years of the company's operation in Armenia.

    He said these projects embrace education, health sectors as well as
    sports, cultural and patriotic education.

    "ArmenTel is a responsible employer, providing thousands of families
    with work, health insurance, and other benefits and compensation,'
    he said.

    "Thanks to the company's operations, hundreds of small and medium-sized
    businesses have the opportunity to make profits and keep employees,"
    he added.

    ArmenTel is a subsidiary of Russian VimpelCom providing fixed and
    mobile communications, as well as high-speed Internet access. ($ 1 -
