BELARUS INTERESTED IN COOPERATION IN JEWELRY BUSINESS WITH ARMENIA

MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) - Belarus shows interest in developing
cooperation with Armenia in jewelry business, Deputy Foreign Minister
of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan said after the Belarusian-Armenian
ministerial consultations on 6 November.
"Today the Armenian government is busy with implementing the program
on development of free economic zones. These zones will promote the
development of the industry, high technology and gem cutting. We hope
the Belarusian side will be interested (and such interest has already
been expressed) in cooperation in diamond jewelry because the terms
in the FEZ are quite favorable. The cooperation in this business will
allow us to increase the trade," said Shavarsh Kocharyan.
First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alexander Mikhnevich
noted that there is an objective reason for the Belarusian-Armenian
successful interaction in the jewelry business, namely highly qualified
personnel. Specialists are very important in this business.
To our credit, we, Belarus, have has preserved the staff at
enterprises, we did not let the brain drain happen. So we have an
objective reason for cooperation," he said.
