6TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF TRANSLATORS AND PUBLISHERS TO BE HELD IN YEREVAN
YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS: Electronic book is of a great
importance, but at the same time it is a serious challenge for the
literature to save the traditional book type. Armenpress reports
the statement of Deputy Minister of Culture Artur Poghosyan made
during the opening ceremony of the 6th International Conference of
Translators and Publishers. According to him, the best way for the
upbringing of the young generation is the traditional book type.
"We have a priority issue to restore and deepen the literary ties
between the writers" noted the Deputy Minister.
Referring to the 6th international conference which is to take place
on November 6-8 in Yerevan Poghosyan has noted that it is an actual
and purposeful event aimed to save and protect the cultural heritage
of the literature.
"This conference has an interesting history and evolution. Each year
the number and the geography of the participants are increasing"
mentioned Poghosyan. He believes that the conference has already left
the territory of the CIS, embracing the European countries.
Austrian writer, translator Herbert Maurer noted that Armenians were
carrying out rather an active participation not only in Austrian book
publishing industry but also in the other countries'.
Three-day International Conference of Publishers and Translators is
held in Yerevan, November 5-8.
