The president of the Multinational Georgia NGO and the Georgian
minister of education have agreed to discuss and resolve the
Georgian-Armenian community's educational problems.
`It is now a month since the Georgian Dream party celebrated a
victory, and we came to realize over this period that unlike the
former authorities of Georgia, the Bidzina Ivanishvili-led government
has its doors open to the Armenians and the other minorities,' Arnold
Stepanyan told Tert.am on Saturday,
Stepanyan has sent a written note to the Georgian Dream leader Bidzina
Ivanishvili addressing the problems of Georgian-Armenians. `The former
authorities wouldn't cooperate with our organization. But we now have
an opportunity to raise our problems and move ahead,' he said.
As for the Armenians who have been convicted for crossing the
Abkhazian-Russian border, Stepanyan said he has met Georgia's new
minister of justice, Sozar Subari, who will soon give him permission
to visit those people in prison. Stepanyan thinks such a course of
developments will help solve specific problems within the shortest
timeframes.
