YEREVAN. - The Yezidi nation differs from all other nations in the
world by their mode of life, pagan religion, humanism, and merits,
Union of World and Armenia Yezidis Vice Chairman Omar Mamoyan stated
during a press conference on Saturday.
`Our youth feel very well in Armenia. We consider Armenia our cradle
and feel ourselves embraced by close people. But we have numerous
talented youth, cultural representatives, athletes, [and] therefore we
ask the Government of Armenia for ordinary positions and jobs so they
may feel secure,' Mamoyan said.
He assured that the Yezidis are not discriminated against in Armenia,
but he asked that they - being a national minority in Armenia - be given
privilege when enrolling in universities, or receiving jobs.
