Turkish FM Says Turkey Will Not Let its Airspace Be Used for Arms
    Shipment to Asad

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Friday [ 9
November] Turkey would not allow use of its airspace for sending
weapons to the Asad [Al-Asad] regime in Syria.

"We impose no limitations on the shipment of humanitarian aid but we
do not let anyone to use Turkish airspace to arm a regime that
declared war on its own people," Davutoglu told reporters in a joint
press conference with his Egyptian counterpart Mohamed Kamel Amr in
    the Turkish capital, Ankara.

Davutoglu was referring to a Syria-bound Armenian plane which landed
in Turkey's Erzurum province on Thursday for the inspection of its
cargo. The plane departed after the inspection, in which no weapons or
ammunitions were found on board but only humanitarian aid.

"This is a stance that Turkey has taken in line with its principles,"
    Davutoglu added.

    Turkish Premier To Visit Egypt

Davutoglu said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was set to
pay a visit in Egypt on November 17 to participate in a meeting of the
    Turkey-Egypt High Level Strategic Council.

Davutoglu said 12 Turkish ministers would accompany Erdogan on his visit.
