Armenian Minister Lauds Iran's Unbiased Stance on Karabakh Issue
TEHRAN (FNA)- Armenia's Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasian praised
Iran's impartial stance on the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute between
Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"Iran has acted very logically and impartially with regard to the
issue of Karabakh," Tovmasian said in a meeting with his Iranian
counterpart Morteza Bakhtiari on Sunday.
As regards bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries,
Tovmasian stressed that there is no impediment to the further
expansion of Iran-Armenia relations.
Iranian officials have on many occasions voiced Tehran's readiness to
help resolve the territorial dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia
over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
Iran has long taken various diplomatic initiatives to expand its ties
with the neighboring states.
In recent years, Iran and its Northern neighbor Armenia have boosted
cooperation, signed agreements on energy cooperation and agreed to
cooperate in technology and research and to enhance ties in commerce
and economy.
