TURKEY'S KURDISH MP APOLOGIZES FOR COMPARING ARMENIAN GENOCIDE VICTIMS WITH KURDS

In his Twitter account, the Turkish parliament's pro-Kurdish Peace
and Democracy Party (BDP) member Sirri Sakik apologized for his recent
regrettable comparison.
"As the son of a people [that is, the Kurds] who were subjected to
massacre for centuries, it was impossible for me to offend other
nations who have had the same fate," Sakik stated, T24.com website
of Turkey reports.
To note, during a recent public rally in Izmir, Turkey, Sirri Sakik
had called upon the Turkish authorities and said: "Get smart! The
Kurds are not the Armenians of 1915 for you to massacre! The Kurds
are not the Greeks and the Jews, who survived the September 6-7, 1955
[Istanbul riots], for you to tyrannize!"
