director Arik Manukyan clashed with a group of Armenians attending
the event.
Arik Manukyan's speech caused the dispute. Addressing the event Arik
Manukyan spoke about "Sari gelin" song used in the film. He said
Azerbaijanis and Armenians introduced the song as their song. He named
the song "Sari gelin", this made Armenian youth angry. Armenians call
this song "Sari akhchik". The Armenian young people said by naming
the song in Azerbaijani, Arik Manukyan admitted that it belonged
to Azerbaijanis. But the representatives of the Armenian Diaspora
prevented the deepening of the dispute.
Manukyan first called on both nations to peace, but seeing the audience
become angry changed his mind. He said the Armenian people were ready
for battle, war.
Following this, the film "Prervannaya pesnya" was demonstrated. The
film is about an Azerbaijani and Armenian, who fell into a deep hollow
during Karabakh war. Armenians play both parts in the film.
"I would like an Azerbaijani actor to act as an Azerbaijani
serviceman in the film," film director Arik Manukyan told APA's Moscow
correspondent. He said he had made such a proposal.
"But the Azerbaijani actor refused to act in the film. Despite this,
the Azerbaijanis living here helped me make this film. We made this
film at our own expenses. It was made in a pavilion in Moscow,"
he said.
Manukyan said the presentation of the film will also be held in other
cities of Russia.
