President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan met with French National Assembly
President Claude Bartolone during his ongoing official visit to France,
the presidential press- service reports.
The two parties highly appreciated the parliamentary diplomacy in
the context of the Armenian-French state relations. Serzh Sargsyan
welcomed the close contacts and fruitful work of the France-Armenia
Parliamentary Friendship Group and made a point of the two countries'
cooperation at international organizations.
Claude Bartolone on behalf of the French Parliament expressed readiness
to support the spirits of friendship and further promote the bilateral
ties building on common values. He said that in France they highly
appreciate Armenia's active work during Serzh Sargsyan's presidency
on rapprochement with the EU. Serzh Sargsyan and Claude Bartolone
made a point of the Armenian community of France as a peculiar bridge
linking the two countries.
The Armenian president thanked France and its friendly people for warm
attitude towards and care for Armenians, and the French Parliament for
permanent support to the Armenian people in important issues. The two
parties touched upon regional issues and the Karabakh peace process.
President Sargsyan will meet with the members of the France-Armenia
Friendship Group of the Armenian National Assembly and the French
Senate tonight.
