SERZH SARGSYAN AND JEAN-MARC AYRAULT DISCUSS INVOLVEMENT OF FRENCH COMPANIES IN CONSTRUCTION OF NEW POWER UNIT OF ARMENIAN NPP

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is on an official visit
to France, met with French Prime Minister Jena-Marc Ayrault on
November 12.
The presidential press-service reports Sargsyan and Ayrault as
welcoming the 20 years of efficient political cooperation of Armenia
and France that should become exemplary also for bilateral economic
cooperation. Sargsyan said that France is the second biggest investor
in economy of Armenia. He assigned priority to further development of
the trade and economic relations and growth of the commodity turnover.
The president and the prime minister discussed involvement of French
companies into energy projects in Armenia, including in construction
of the new power unit of the Armenian nuclear power plant. Ayrault
said that France is ready to support French companies' entry to the
free economic zones in Armenia.
The two parties discussed possible involvement of leading French
companies in the telecommunications and infrastructure development
projects and in the pension system development program in Armenia.
Serzh Sargsyan and Jean-Marc Ayrault discussed further enhancement
of cultural and educational relations and France's assistance in
development of the Armenia-EU relations.
