YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. In frames of the Armenian-Iranian
cooperation two large programs will be realized in Armenia and Artsakh.
In a conversation with "Armenpress" the Honorary Chairman of the
Armenia-Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry Levon Aharonyan stated
that the first of the programs will be realized in the sphere of
agriculture. Aharonyan said: "We examined the territory ranging from
the Armenian and Georgian frontier up to the River Araks. There is
a huge potential for the development of agriculture and especially
for stock-raising. Currently Iran needs good pasture. We can jointly
organize stock-raising of 3 or even 5 million cattle in Armenia
and Artsakh."
In another realm of agriculture the Chamber is planning sowing olive in
Armenia and Artsakh. The Honorary Chairman of the Armenia-Iran Chamber
of Commerce and Industry Levon Aharonyan noted: "This will be a great
heroic action. The olive grows to seed in 4-5 years. It will be a new
source of income for the peasants either. We have similar idea about
almond-trees. Two companies have already been registered in Armenia
for this purpose. We have already made all necessary agreements with
the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia. Minister
Sergo Karapetyan personally expressed his willingness to support
these enterprises."
