Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received the delegation headed by
Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars RinkÄ"viÄ~Ms. Greeting the guests, the
Prime Minister noted: "We attach great importance to the development
of relations with Latvia and are ready to make efforts to deepen the
    bilateral comprehensive cooperation."

The Latvian Foreign Minister noted that his country is also interested
in expanding relations with Armenia in different spheres.

Touching upon bilateral economic cooperation, the interlocutors
emphasized the importance of raising the level of commodity turnover.

It was noted that intensive works are under way to create an
Armenian-Latvian Intergovernmental Commission, which will further
boost the development of bilateral economic ties.

Edgars RinkÄ"viÄ~Ms welcomed the large-scale reforms implemented
under the EU Eastern Partnership Program and expressed confidence
that Armenia will be the firs to sign a visa facilitation agreement
    with the European Union.

Referring to regional issue, Tigran Sargsyan noted that "Armenia is
interested in the establishment of peace and security, while Azerbaijan
and Turkey continue making non-constructive statements."

The Prime Minister reminded that the Armenian-Turkish protocols remain
frozen because of the non-constructive position of the latter.

The Latvian Foreign Minister attached importance to the creation
of a positive atmosphere for the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh
conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
